Former Navy SEAL Gets Help with PTSD with new Non-drug Therapy
Ben Wallick served in SEAL Team 2 out of Little Creek. He left the service in 2010 and went back home to Peoria, Illinois, to be a firefighter.
It wasn’t long after he began having symptoms of Post Traumatic Stress Disorder.
…A friend told him about a non-drug treatment called Magnetic e-Resonance Therapy.
…‘I started noticing stuff in the first week, just little things. I started to fall asleep and stay asleep longer,’ Wallick said.
After two weeks of daily treatment, Wallick was off all of his medications.”
New Treatment for Autism Life-changing for Local Family
An FDA-approved treatment for depression is now being used to treat autism – and with promising results.
It’s a non-drug treatment called Magnetic e-Resonance Therapy — or MeRT — for short, and for one Elizabeth City family, it’s been life-changing.
…There were no guarantees that the treatment would have any effect, but Jagger’s mom tells me the results were life-changing for him and their family.
‘There were some moments that I thought I’d never see,’ she said. ‘We’re starting to see his desire to co-play like, ‘Hey come be involved,’ and that’s not something we ever saw.’
She went on to say, ‘About three weeks into treatment and he was sitting calmly on the couch — which is, by the way, a goal in itself — and I said, ‘Uh.. guess what?’ And he said, ‘I need a kiss.’ And I just thought I was gonna die.’
Resetting Your Brain, the Possibility Comes to Oklahoma
Thirteen-year-old Brock Marlow calls it his ‘brain treatment.’ It’s actually called MeRT, short for Magnetic e-Resonance Therapy.
Brock has a severe form of autism. His mom, Michelle, has tried nearly everything over the years to help her son. ‘There is a frustration that comes with your child not being about to talk to you,’ said Michelle Marlow.
…Brock’s mom says after eight weeks MeRT treatments, he’s now more verbal and much happier. ‘He started communicating with us and making jokes,’ said Marlow. ‘And he has a love of music we didn’t even know.’

Defense One: Brain Zapping is Curing Navy SEALs of PTSD
Bill reported that his headaches were gone, as did Cathy, who said her depression and mood disorders had lessened considerably. Jim’s memory and concentration improved so dramatically that he had begun pursuing a second master’s degree and won a spot on his college’s football team. Finding Center with Nick Hardwick
In his Finding Center podcast, former pro football player Nick Hardwick interviews Dr. Erik Won of Wave Neuroscience:
In this episode, I share my story with how I found the center, what I experienced during and subsequent to the treatment. We also get into the importance of baseline testing of cognitive function so we can track how the brain is performing over time, and how it responds before, during, and after stress. I ask questions about how much one’s brain resilience is baked into an individual’s DNA; how much can we affect our “fate” as it relates to brain health; and where we should begin our fight when the battle is over, the contact sport career is ending, or the executive’s cognitive abilities start to decline with age.”
Brain Treatment Center Offers Novel Approach to Treat Autism
According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, the prevalence of autism is increasing among our nation’s children.
When Miriam Gimal’s own daughter was diagnosed with the disorder several years ago, she tried a treatment called MeRT, which stands for Magnetic e-Resonance Therapy.
The treatment includes electroencephalogram, or EEG, to map brainwaves, followed by transcranial magnetic stimulation to regulate those brainwaves.”
