Struggling with Treatment-Resistant Depression?
When standard treatments don’t work, MeRT offers a new way forward.
If you’ve tried antidepressants, therapy, or even multiple combinations and still feel stuck, you may be experiencing treatment-resistant depression (TRD), and you are not alone. Up to one in three people with depression don’t get lasting relief from medication.
At Brain Treatment USA, we offer a new, data-driven approach: MeRT (Magnetic e-Resonance Therapy). It’s a safe, noninvasive treatment that combines brain mapping with targeted magnetic stimulation, helping your brain reconnect, reset, and heal.
What Is Treatment-Resistant Depression?
Treatment-resistant depression refers to major depression that doesn’t improve after trying at least two different antidepressant medications. It’s more common than most people realize—and more frustrating than most can imagine.
You may be experiencing:
- Chronic sadness, emptiness, or hopelessness
- Ongoing fatigue or brain fog
- Difficulty concentrating or making decisions
- Disrupted sleep, appetite, or motivation
- Thoughts of self-harm or emotional numbness
If nothing seems to help, it’s not because you haven’t tried hard enough. Your brain may need a different type of care.
What Makes MeRT Different?
MeRT® (Magnetic e-Resonance Therapy) is an emerging treatment. It’s based on TMS (Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation), which is FDA-approved for treatment-resistant depression.
We begin with a quantitative EEG (qEEG) and EKG, allowing us to see exactly how your brain is functioning and any communication disruptions.
Based on that data, we develop a customized treatment protocol that delivers magnetic stimulation to the precise areas of your brain needing support, helping restore healthy function and emotional regulation.
MeRT is:
- Offered at leading clinics nationwide
- Personalized to your unique brainwave activity
- Noninvasive and drug-free
- Grounded in science and clinical results
Proven Results with Magnetic Stimulation
In a major study published in JAMA Psychiatry, patients with treatment-resistant depression who received rTMS (the core technology used in MeRT) showed significantly higher success rates than those who switched to another medication:
- 37.5% of patients responded to rTMS, compared to just 14.6% who improved after switching antidepressants.
- 27.1% of patients achieved remission with rTMS, while only 4.9% did so with antidepressants.
- rTMS was effective at reducing symptoms of anxiety and anhedonia (loss of pleasure).
MeRT builds on this proven foundation, offering precision, customization, and hope.
